JITT

I've already commented in previous posts about how I have students post questions for their classmates to respond to.  Unfortunately, because students have had issues with Blackboard Vista, I created a blog for my class where the questions are posted for students to answer.  This semester my students don't seem as motivated as in the past.  In the previous semesters, overall the students enjoyed the experience.  My students this semester aren't even reading the material enough to post questions.  Hopefully, they'll get over the hump.

Looking at other people's blogs, I see that most of the instructors blog about as much as I do--which is next to nil.  Frankly, I don't have the time or inclination.  I don't want the whole world to know all my random musings.

World Lit Week 3

This week 2 students wrote a question each on Blackboard Vista for the rest of the class to respond to. The questions were wonderfully open-ended, and I can't wait for all the students to respond.

Connectivism Article

I'm all about making connections in my scholarship and in the classroom. However, there's a limit. Not everything goes together. My challenge is helping students realize the difference. I don't want students putting things together just to get it done. There are many types of "knowledges" and we as instructors should use all of the different ways to help when needed and warranted. Some students learn better one way other's another. Offering a variety helps students learn in the best way for them.
